National BGCA Programs:

Power Hour - helps Club members to be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring as well as encouraging members to become self-directed learners.

Project Learn - reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge that young people learn at school through fun, yet academically beneficial activities and games such as Spelling and Math Bees, JEOPARDY, SCRABBLE, BOGGLE, and PALM BEACHOPOLY.

The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County have partnered with the National SCRABBLE Association to bring official SCRABBLE Clubs to all 13 of our sites. Studies show that students who participate in this program not only improve their skills in spelling, vocabulary, reading and math, but they also gain confidence while competing in local and regional tournaments.

Money Matters - promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. They also learn about starting small businesses and paying for college.

Career Launch - encourages Club members to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions, and prepare to join our nation’s ever-changing work force
