The Capital Campaign
The Capital program has two clearly defined objectives: 1. Construction of new facilities; and 2. Renovation and expansion of current facilities. The primary targets for new facility construction are in the communities of Boca Raton, Riviera Beach & Wellington as well as Belle Glade and West Palm Beach.
Boca Raton
The Boys & Girls Club in Boca Raton is currently housed in a 4100 square foot facility which limits participation to 80 children. The waiting list continues to grow. Working in conjunction with the Police Athletic League, plans for a new Club is currently in the early planning stages. The new facility would be a joint effort and enable both groups to provide quality services to hundreds of young people in need.
Riviera Beach
The new Riviera Beach facility is currently in a holding pattern. A location for the new facility has not been determined due to land availability issues. This places an urgent need for the determination of a site for the new facility to service the children of the community. Upon completion, the new 21,000 sq. ft. facility will replace the current 14,700 sq. ft. facility and will include additional programming space, indoor gym and expanded teen center. A total of $3.25 million is needed to complete this project.
Wellington
The Wellington Capital Campaign is moving forward at a rapid pace and we currently have nearly half of the $3.3 million dollars needed to build a new facility. Wellington kids will still be able to use their current Club, when construction of the new building gets underway at the same location. Upon completion, the new 21,000 sq. ft. facility will replace the current 7,000 sq. ft. facility and will include age specific game rooms, an indoor gym and expanded teen center.
Belle Glade
Over the years, the Glades’ area Boys & Girls Club has grown to encompass six school-based sites and one stand-alone Clubhouse, serving more than 2,000 youth through programs and outreach. The majority of these sites offer both before and after-school care programs. Upon completion, the renovation of the current facilities will update all the amenities offered to our members. A total of $500,000 will be needed to complete this project.
West Palm Beach
The West Palm Beach Club has undergone several additions over the years, including the August H. Oenbrink Memorial Gym, the Charles A. Weber Wing, and the Founders’ Teen Lounge. Upon completion, the renovation and expansion of the current facility will increase capacity and update all the amenities offered to its members. A total of $850,000 will be needed to complete this project.
