Delray Beach Boy's and Girl's ClubHistory

Recognizing the need to give Delray Beach’s youth a safe alternative during out of school time, local leaders including then Mayor Tom Lynch and local business leader, Marc deBaptiste, joined forces to open a Boys & Girls Club. Their efforts in conjunction with the Board of the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County paid off when they opened the first club in the old Carver Middle School in 1997 and then moved into the former Catherine Strong Center, in 1998. The number of youngsters needing services grew throughout the years, and the organization eventually conducted a capital campaign to build a new 21,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility. Through the generous support of Naoma Donnelley Haggin, the Forrest & Frances Lattner Foundation, and numerous others we opened the Naoma Donnelley Haggin Boys & Girls Club opened in May 2005.

Family Programming

Through a new Family Liaison Initiative, the  Clubs offer monthly PNC Educational and Family Fun Nights for all parents and guardians of the youth it serves.

One parent recently wrote the following about the program:

" We can all do a lot more when we come together to solve problems and help each other. No matter what your circumstances, we can all support each other".
