Acquiring knowledge and developing a positive attitude toward learning while encouraging vocational competence through daily homework help, literacy programs, computer training, and employability skills training.
21st Century Community Learning Center inititaive -The Palm Beach County CARES Project is successfully operating 21st Century Community Learning Centers at thirteen Palm Beach County Boys & Girls Club sites and three additional extension sites to ensure easy access to all students and their families. In addition to the after school programs, six sites offer Before School Care Programs.
Power Hour -helps Club members to be more successful in school by providing homework help and tutoring as well as encouraging members to become self-directed learners.
Project Learn -reinforces and enhances the skills and knowledge that young people learn at school through fun, yet academically beneficial activities and games such as Spelling and Math Bees, JEOPARDY, SCRABBLE, BOGGLE, and PALM BEACHOPOLY.
Money Matters - promotes financial responsibility and independence among Club members ages 13-18 by building their basic money management skills. Participants learn how to manage a checking account, budget, save and invest. They also learn about starting small businesses and paying for college.
Career Launch - encourages Club members to assess their skills and interests, explore careers, make sound educational decisions, and prepare to join our nation’s ever-changing work force.
The Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County has provided a wide variety of nationally recognized and impact driven programs throughout the years and partners with numerous other service providers, such as the Palm Beach County Health Department, Literacy Coalition, local universities, and many others to enhance the learning opportunities of the youth served.
