Funder Snapshot

Due to the generosity of our many funders, the Boys & Girls Club of Palm Beach County is able to serve 6,000 young residents, age 6-18 with a variety of well developed, results-oriented programs in six core areas, each year.   The Club’s core areas of focus are shared among Boys & Girls Clubs across the country, and include evidence-based programs in The Arts, Health and Life Skills, Character and Leadership Development, Education and Career Development, Specialized Initiatives and Sports, Fitness and Recreation.

Girls from the Boca Boy's and Girl's ClubSince 1971, the Boys and Girls Clubs have served local children from some of the county’s most unstable and challenging neighborhoods.   Our Club membership reflects the diverse composition of our county: 68% of our club membership identifies as African-American and 14% of our membership is Hispanic.  Another 11% is Caucasian and 7% is Asian.  Members range in age from 6-18, and nearly 70% are younger than 10 years of age.

We understand that our funders measure our success through outcomes.  They know they have invested wisely when they see evidence of positive changes in our young members as a result of our work.  Youth who actively and regularly participate at the Club continually outperform their non-member peers in key areas including:

  • Academic Success - 93% of our members improved or maintained their reading grades, 80% improved or maintained their math grades and79% improved or maintained their science grades.

  • Good Character and Leadership- 98% of parents stated on a recent survey that as a result of their child’s involvement in the Clubs, their values such as honesty, fairness and respect are better developed.

  • Healthy Lifestyles - 96% of parents stated that as a result of attending the Clubs, their child has developed a better understanding of positive life styles and healthy behaviors.

Our funders generously provide operating support as well as support for specific programs through grants.  We are grateful to each of them.
