What is the program’s
mission?
The mission
of the Rise & Shine Food Co-Op is to support local families and
strengthen the communities we serve by increasing food and economic security
and promoting social responsibility.
10 Campaign
Do teens matter? Just see what the
teens at the Boys & Girls Clubs of Palm Beach County have accomplished.
These teens have developed a nonprofit Family Food Co-op they named Rise
& Shine. They are providing healthy fruits and vegetables as well as
meats, nonperishable food and household items to community families in
need. In less than three months of operation, the teens were recognized
and featured on NBC’s Nightly News’ segment, “Making a Difference.”

(Web
Version)
The teens’ business plan
states they will be able to sustain their business within three
years. Until then, they are seeking assistance with their
program so that they can achieve their ultimate goals: to be
self-sustaining and to be a national model for communities
across the country.
We hope you will join our
10 Campaign. If you could
give just $10, think about the difference you will be making in helping
these industrious teens reach their goal.
